Day 3

So, it turns out that a swift slap to the throat of the child next to you on a plane does “encourage”  them to turn off their light in the middle of the night - who knew?

It was a loooong flight but to be fair, despite the expected lack of sleep I felt pretty good

Hattie didn’t fare so well but to be fair the breakfast did seem to be made for people with stronger stomachs

We finally landed and managed to get Kieren through the automated passport controls seemlessly and although there was a bit of a wait for our bags, they all came through

The taxi driver was waiting for us and in the first few minutes I managed to say hello, thank you and my name is Dave Gullis all in Korean to a level that they worked out what I was saying - so I was, inevitably, unbearable to be with

The taxi journey took nearly 90 minutes and we were there

Impressive genitalia on a statue, but Hattie has made me stop saying that ...

Inside we were nearly 4 hours ahead of check in time but Hattie had “mentioned” a couple of times that she was tired and Joss had frightened the driver with a snore so I figured it was worth paying the early check in charges

The room is nice but the star of the show is undoubtedly the toilet with the control panel - Joss has spent WAY too long in here

So we sorted out our cases and 3 of us crashed for a few hours while one stayed up on YouTube - who could that be, I wonder?

We then had a little walk around Myeongdong, which is known as the shopping centre of Seoul and we all agreed that Eloise would LOVE this bit

....but not as much as some...

To be fair we only scratched the surface as we haven’t seen half the sector yet and none of the malls but all of the clothes, cosmetics and shoe shops available would have any girl happy

Especially when you find a record shop...

So we decided that as Kieren had been up for 36 hours we’d give him a meal he’d like so we did Italian - I would post the food pics I took but they were taken AFTER he’d started his lasagne, so it wasn’t a pretty sight

We all had a go at saying please and thank you so basically we are all one nation now ......

We decide to let Kieren have the sanctuary of his room to pass out (and Hattie was tired too) so joss and I went looking for a pub

Maps on the phone have been “unreliable” but we did eventually find a pub

....and many enjoyable beers were had

When we left here to go home, however, we found a place that was my soul mate

... because I love pub too ......

But it was too late for there and we settled for a twix and water to finish the night

Well, apart from the whole bag of Doritos that joss ate without sharing, but hey, I’m over it .....
