He happily received money, presents and cards but you could see that he knew that this wasn’t going to be a normal birthday
We decided to “sweeten” the deal by starting with a spoons’ breakfast
Splendid
We then trecked first to buy a rucksack and extension cables
What have we become that a lack of power for our various devices can make or break a holiday - hold on, it’s more like that it makes a happy time regardless of where we are - and I’m more guilty than most
Joss then turned a disheveled house into a home for Eloise and Paul (thank you again) as I “mostly” watched the cricket
At 2 o’clock we were ready to leave and google maps told us we were 1:45 away from the Heathrow hotel
An hour and 15 into the journey, and we’d only knocked 5 minutes off that time due to various crashes
Bugger
Add that to the “hilariousness” of the Satnav sending us to Gatwick rather than Heathrow then it was a stressful trip, splendidly reprieved by the hotel being easy to access and the bar being more than helpful
We were told that you could get food at the bar but did we listen - no
We went to the restaurant where the food was lovely, but perhaps not as cheap as I might have hoped - ah - we are on hols - f*** it 😄
Kieren enjoyed his spag bog - despite looking very suspicious here:
Hahahaha that picture really made me laugh
Hattie laid out some behaviour rules we had to adhere to for this holiday - I’m not sure we passed those this evening let alone the rest of the week .....
We sorted out iPads / iPhones / chargers and then left Hattie and Kieren in their room to go to the bar
We stood waiting for service when it dawned on us how early we were getting up tomorrow so we decided on chocolate, water and an early night - who says you can’t grow up......
